Besides watching "the boy" holding his baby twin girl cousins lovingly and gently, the sweetest moment of this birthday/easter weekend for this Mama was.... having him ask me to come outside and help him plant the flowers the Easter Bunny left for him. This is a boy who doesn't much like touching dirt, but he borrowed his sister's gardening gloves and we dug, added compost, placed, repositioned dirt and patted lovingly in place. And he was very excited. A happy mama moment that! Wishing you many...
Great idea for a basket present. I'm using this one next year. I'm glad he enjoyed it!!
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when you wait 'til the last minute. I didn't want to have a big commercialized basket made of plastic or filled with plastic or character-laden candy which is pretty much all I could find at the store the night before so I improvised. What says spring and Easter but new life... flowers etc.? The kids got some candy for sure but I wanted to limit that focus and create something a wee bit more spiritual.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't do flowers here...not in the middle of the big freeze! All the trees had begun to leaf out and now many of those leaves are hanging limp and brownish green. The dogwood outside my office window had beautiful blooms...also now limp and dying. The tulips and all the flowers are in the same condition. Enjoy your spring out there! Send pictures!
